1.      Guangzhou
1.1  General
Each Month, Guangzhou Environment Bureau givesa report to the public on the water quality status of centralized drinkingwater sources in Guangzhou City. A total of 10 centralized drinking watersources for urban use are monitored, all of which are surface water resources(9 river types and 1 lake type).
1.1.1         Monitoring
The river-type water source is providedwith a monitoring section near the upstream of the water intake of the waterplant. The water plant has multiple water intakes in the same river, and amonitoring section is set at the uppermost 100 meters. The lake-type watersource is sampled according to conventional monitoring points. The samplingdepth of rivers, lakes and reservoirs is 0.5 m below the water surface.
The monitoring items are the basic itemsin Table 1 of the Surface Water Environmental Quality Standards (GB3838-2002)(23 items, except chemical oxygen demand), the supplementary items in Table 2(5 items) and the preferred specific items in Table 3 (33 items). ), a total of61 items. According to the results of water quality analysis of the wholeproject in the past 5 years, adjust the specific items to be added in Table 3(80 items).
1.1.2         Evaluation Results
2019.04 The 10 monitored centralized drinking water sources in the city allmeet or exceed the Class III standard of Surface Water Environmental QualityStandard (GB3838-2002), the compliance rate is 100%, and 7 of 10 are Class IIstandards, accounting for 70%. 3 of 10 are Class III standards, accounting for30%.
2019.03The 10 monitored centralized drinking water sourcesin the city all meet or exceed the Class III standardsof the Surface Water Environmental Quality Standard (GB 3838-2002), thecompliance rate is 100%, and 6 of 10 are Class II standards,accounting for 60 %; 4 of 10 are Class III standards,accounting for 40%.
2019.02The 10 monitored centralized drinking water sources in the city allmeet or exceed the Class III standard of Surface Water Environmental QualityStandard (GB3838-2002), the compliance rate is 100%, and 8 are Class IIstandards, accounting for 80%. 2 are Class III standards, accounting for20%.

2.      Taiyuan
2.1  General
A total of 4 centralized drinking watersources, including 1 surface water source and 3 ground water sources. Eachmonth Taiyuan Environment Bureau gives a report to the public on water qualityof centralized drinking water sources in Taiyuan City.
2.2  Monitoring points and projects
Surface water source: The surface watersource of Taiyuan City (Luohe Reservoir) is a lake-type water source. The WeiheReservoir has two monitoring points, namely the reservoir water outlet area andthe reservoir central area. The sampling depth is 0.5 meters below the watersurface. In April 2019, the Weihe Reservoir was not ship-free and was notsampled at the reservoir surface of the Weihe Reservoir. The water inflowmonitoring data of Huyan Water Plant was regarded as the water qualitymonitoring data of the surface drinking water source of Fenhe Reservoir due tothe use of closed pipeline water delivery from Fenhe Reservoir to Huyan WaterPurification Plant.
Groundwater source: Three groundwatersources (Lancun, Zaogou and land) in Taiyuan City, one monitoring point is setat each water plant.
Surface water source: The monitoringproject is the basic items in Table 1 of the Surface Water EnvironmentalQuality Standard (GB3838-2002) (23 items, except for chemical oxygen demand),the supplementary items of Table 2 (5 items) and Table 3 A total of 61 itemsare selected for a specific project (33 items).

In April 2019, the water quality of fourcentralized drinking water sources (one surface water source and threegroundwater sources) monitored by Taiyuan City reached the standard, and thecompliance rate was 100%.
